My family has lived here since 1979. My husband, Ken Pedersen, and I own K&C Homes,  LLC which opened in July 2002. I am a co-owner along with my daughter Laura Teague of Forever Flowers & Gifts which opened in Oct 2005. I’m proud to live in this community as it reminds me of my hometown. 

Karen Jones - Chamber Treasurer

Karen Jones and her husband Justin, moved back to Trenton to raise their sons in Gilchrist County in 2005.  Justin is a native of Gilchrist County, while Karen called Lake City and Lake Butler home.  She traded in her purple and gold for the orange and black of Trenton you could say.  They moved back to Trenton to help run the family businesses of A-1 Pest Control and Jones and Son Fire Extinguisher Service.  Both have been in business since 1975, started by Justin’s parents, Prieston and Wanda Jones.  Since then, they have added two more businesses to the list; BMP Logic and Karen is a realtor for Thurmond Realty.  She specializes in new home purchases and helps young families purchase and build their first home.  BMP Logic owned by Doug Crawford and Justin Jones, allows farmers to see what is going on under the soil with water and nutrients.  Karen’s passion for business is shown in the family of employees that they have.  She agrees with the slogan of “Small businesses are what keeps America going”. They now reside outside of Bell, Florida, and are found frequently kayaking or floating down the rivers.

Michael McElroy - Board Member

1983 Graduate of Chiefland High School and a Bachelors degree in Business Management from St. Leo University.  35 years of banking experience with most recent career as Market President of Ameris Bank/Gilchrist & Dixie Counties.  In 2019 appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis as Gilchrist County Tax Collector and re-elected in 2020.  Married for nearly 33 years to Christie and have two grown children, Brandon & Alyssa.

Natasha Allen- Board Member

A compassionate, though zealous advocate, Natasha Munkittrick Allen opened her practice in Fanning Springs in 2016. She opened her Citrus County office in 2019. Her office is located in Lecanto.  

Since opening her practice, has successfully handled many different types of cases. Her passion is in Elder Law, Estate Planning and Probate. Both offices focuses on just these types of clients and client issues.

Natasha focuses a fair portion of her practice on Estate Planning, drafting documents in order to assist her clients successfully plan for their futures and facilitating distribution of their assets according to their wishes. Because every client is different and has different needs, she listens to the client’s specific objectives and then, develops a clear plan to help them achieve those goals. She handles drafting Trusts, durable power of attorneys, Last Will and Testaments, and various other estate planning documents. 

Natasha also handles a great deal of Probate matters. She can handle an estate in any county in the State of Florida and would be happy to assist you sort through the complicated issues loved ones often face when dealing with the loss of a loved one. 

For both Probate and Estate planning consultations, Natasha offers one-hour, no-cost and no obligation appointments. This allows you to have your questions answered without any pressure, while deciding if she is the attorney you wish to retain.

Natasha offers Medicaid planning, including legal spend-down advice and other essential tools to assist with eligibility. She can also file the Medicaid application on you or your loved one’s behalf.

Natasha is enthusiastically involved in her community. She is a current and founding board member of BACK Fighting Cancer, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization that assists families in Levy, Gilchrist and Dixie Counties who have a child fighting cancer. She is an active member of the Suwannee Valley Rotary Club. She served as President of the Board of Directors for the Greater Chiefland Area Chamber of Commerce in 2020 and 2021 and is still an active member. She also serves on the board of the Gilchrist Education Foundation and the Board of the Gilchrist County Chamber of Commerce.

Stoney Smith - Board Member

Stoney Smith has lived in the greater Gilchrist area for his entire life, currently in Fanning Springs on the west side.  You may see him at the Marathon/Sabarro Pizza location on County Road 340 and 47 or the Marathon or BP in Trenton on State Road 26.  He sometimes drives a fuel truck around the county delivering fuel to farmers, dairies, and other great customers.  He prides himself in being a small business entrepreneur and believes strongly in promoting local business.  The private sector is the driver in the community.  When he’s not working, Smith enjoys golf, hunting, and fishing on the beautiful Suwannee River.   He is a lifelong member of First Baptist, along with his wife of 33 years, Laura, and they have 2 adult children, Morgan & Logan.

Denise Hudson - Board Member

Moved to Gilchrist County in 1991.  Employed at Capital City Bank for the past 32 years, currently as Vice President of Sales Management.  Enjoys getting involved in the community and is or has been involved with The Salvation Army of Gilchrist County, Tri-County Resources, Partnership for Strong Families, Trenton Quarterback Club, and Education Foundation of Gilchrist County.  Previously served 7 years on the Gilchrist County Chamber as President, Secretary, Treasurer, and past president.  Married for 37 years to Jim with 2 grown sons Michael and Ryan.
